Most of a good interior finish happens before the first coat. Floors and furniture are covered, edges are masked, and repairs and priming are handled before any color goes on.
In the Gulf-front condo below, painter's tape went down along the wood floor at the baseboard and at the base of the built-in drawers before they were painted, so each finished line at the floor is straight and the floor itself stays clean.

Cabinets show every shortcut. Doors and drawers are cleaned, deglossed and finished so the surface stays smooth and hard-wearing rather than tacky.
Painting is a way to change a kitchen, a bathroom or a built-in without replacing it. The louvered cabinet below went from cream to deep charcoal to match new wall color in a Gulf-front condo here in Destin.

Choosing the color

Swatches read differently on your wall than they do in the store. We look at them on site, in your light, before anything is ordered.
Coastal light is bright and changes through the day, so a color can shift a lot between a shaded bedroom and a sunny living room. Comparing a few swatches against your floors, trim and furniture is the easiest way to avoid a color that looked right on the card and wrong on the wall.

Most of our work is in Destin — Gulf-front condos, family homes and everything in between — and we take projects all along the Emerald Coast, from Shalimar and Fort Walton Beach to 30A and Inlet Beach.

Can you repair walls before painting?
Small repairs and priming are part of preparing a wall for paint. Larger drywall work is carried out by our trade partners and coordinated with the painting — see Renovations.
